Siemens partners with Mevea to Deliver State-of-the-Art Digital Twin-based Training Capabilities to the Port and Terminal Sector

Lappeenranta, Finland, December 12, 2018 – Mevea Ltd., the physics-based, real-time simulation software provider to the global crane and machinery industries, has announced today that it is working together with Siemens to create Digital Twins that deliver Training and Product Development capabilities to Siemens Cranes. The integration of Mevea’s simulation software with Siemens SIMOCRANE technology platform enables highly accurate Digital Twins of maritime cranes in a port environment.

Mevea was selected based on both the accuracy of its real-time simulation software and the ability to seamlessly integrate with Siemens SIMOCRANE technology platform, producing Digital Twins capable of simulating the behaviour and use of real cranes. Mevea’s simulation approach, combined with an extensive set of training exercises, creates a professional learning experience that equips operators with the skills for safe and productive crane operations and helps them master the advanced capabilities of Siemens SIMOCRANE technology platform. Initially, the partnership includes Digital Twins of Ship-to-Shore (STS), Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) and Rail-Mounted Gantry (RMG) cranes.
