Wärtsilä and Mevea Signed a Strategic Supply and Purchase Agreement for Crane Training Simulators

Wärtsilä and Mevea have strengthened their simulation cooperation by signing a Strategic Supply and Purchase Agreement (SSPA). The global agreement covers port and ship crane training simulators that Wärtsilä will offer as an extension to their current maritime training simulator portfolio.

“Mevea has proven to be a worthy partner offering complementary high-quality products, services and focused expertise in port and crane simulation that provides our customers with the added value they need”, says Johan Ekvall, Head of Simulation Product, Wärtsilä Marine.

“With growing demand for advanced and integrated crane simulators to support shipboard, shoreside and offshore operations such as within the hi-tech offshore wind industry, our ongoing collaboration brings together industry leading solutions, expanding opportunities for highly realistic and immersive training applications”, Mr. Ekvall continues.

“We are proud to work with Wärtsilä, the market leader in maritime training simulator, who is having more than 5.500 marine simulation systems in 91 countries”, Raimo Nikkilä, Mevea’s Sales and Marketing Director says.

Mevea’s simulators are based on unique physics-based Digital Twin technology. The technology provides the accuracy, capabilities, and functionality needed for advanced operator training.
