Growing Demand for Training Simulators in the Americas Market

At the Wärtsilä Simulation User Conference – Americas Edition, held at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) in Baltimore, USA, Mevea participated in discussions on simulation-based training.

In a short interview during the event, Raimo Nikkilä from Mevea spoke with Noah Collins from WärtsiläSimulation & Training Solutions, USA, about current market developments.

Wärtsilä has a strong position in the North American maritime training simulator market, particularly in navigation simulators, with a broad customer base ranging from maritime academies and shipping companies to training institutes. The company is also expanding its presence in engineering systems and onboard simulation, including within the cruise industry.

Mevea is augmenting Wartsila’s maritime training simulator portfolio by providing crane training simulators for offshore and port cranes.

Both companies have noticed an increase in inquiries from the United States and Latin America market, suggesting growing demand in the market.
